Positive Behavioral Interventions & Supports (PBIS) is a consistent approach for helping our schools establish behavior expectations and interventions for all to decrease behavioral issues while increasing academic outcomes.
PBIS is supported by all staff. Teams of staff look at the behavioral data continuously to monitor student behaviors. We review our data to make sure our expectations for all (universal) are being followed by at least 80% of our students. If students are struggling, we implement interventions to decrease those behaviors.
PBIS helps our classroom management to be effective so we can decrease time spent on discipline and more time on teaching and learning. PBIS creates a positive and safe atmosphere to maximize success for all students.
